Selected by both the China Scholarship Council and the Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Dr. Bingguo Dai pursued his doctoral degree in the Graduate School of Environmental Sciences, Hokkaido University since 2021. In 2024, he obtained PhD degree in the field of Environmental Science Development. Thereafter, he started his career in Hefei Normal University since 2025.

His research interests include community ecology of freshwater fish, quantitative ecology, biodiversity, and conservation biology. Currently, the main research directions are as follows:

• Spatiotemporal dynamics of community structure: The dynamic mechanism of community structure construction of fish community is explored by analyzing the response of fish community composition to changes of biological and abiotic factors.
• Multidimensional biodiversity measurement: through comprehensive use of fish species taxonomic, phylogenetic, functional information, reflect the status of biodiversity from multiple dimensions, in order to put forward more precise and efficient ecological conservation strategies for biodiversity maintenance and restoration.
• Biodiversity index development: Based on R programming, create and perform biodiversity index functions and packages to provide new biodiversity measurement tools for peer researchers.

His research have been published in Diversity and Distributions, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Environmental Management, Ecological Indicators, NeoBiota, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, and other academic journals. He also has made oral reports in academic conferences, such as EcoSummit 2023, China Ecology Congress, National Wildlife Ecology and Resource Conservation, etc.
